Phone Spare Parts from China to Nigeria: Buying Guide

Buying phone spare parts from China to Nigeria starts with the exact repairs your customers need. Match each part to the handset model, hardware revision and expected quality before comparing prices.

A screen that fits the housing can still perform differently from the customer's original display. A charging board listed under a familiar phone name may be the wrong version. Small purchasing errors can turn a compact shipment into stock that technicians cannot use.

This guide explains how Nigerian repair shops, parts retailers and importers can choose stock, investigate quality claims, test samples and calculate a realistic resale budget.

Which phone spare parts should you buy first? #

Build your first list from repair enquiries and completed jobs.

Ask technicians in your intended market, whether Ikeja, Aba or Port Harcourt, which exact models they repair, which parts they struggle to obtain and which quality customers will pay for.

Part category Question to settle before buying
Complete display assemblies Exact model, panel technology, frame option and test results
Charging-port boards and flex assemblies Board code, revision, connector layout and supported functions
Rear and front camera modules Exact camera position, model compatibility and calibration requirements
Speakers and earpieces Dimensions, contacts and matching part reference
Back covers and housings Model variant, colour, included fittings and finish
Battery replacements Product evidence, traceability and an accepted shipping route

Record requested quantities and rejected prices. A frequently mentioned phone brand does not identify the particular part you should stock.

Begin with a manageable range that you can test and explain. Low weight alone does not make an item a good business.

How do you match a replacement part to the exact phone? #

Use more than the phone's retail name.

Create a buying sheet with the brand, full model code, regional variant where relevant, hardware revision, component reference, connector photographs and required condition.

Samsung's self-repair guidance directs users to find manuals and repair guides using their model code. Use the appropriate manufacturer's documentation for the device you are supplying.

Ask your technician to identify the required part before sourcing it. Similar-looking boards or flex cables should not be treated as interchangeable without evidence.

Give each stock item its own code. For example, separate a display with a frame from the same model's display without a frame, and distinguish different panel technologies.

Keep a clear photograph of the approved connector and label. Agree that any change in revision, manufacturer or assembly contents requires written approval before shipment.

What do original, OEM, refurbished and aftermarket mean? #

Ask the seller to define the supplied product in writing.

Supplier description Evidence or clarification to request
New genuine service part Traceable source, part identity and evidence supporting authenticity
Used original or pulled part Source, prior use, cosmetic condition and functional test results
Refurbished original display Which components remain original and which were replaced
Aftermarket replacement Actual specification, manufacturer identification and test criteria
OEM, AAA, premium or similar grade A written definition and measurable acceptance standard

These words should begin the enquiry rather than settle it. A seller's grade label cannot replace an agreed specification.

For applicable iPhones, Apple's Parts and Service History guidance distinguishes messages including Genuine, Used and Unknown. Apple lists several possible reasons for Unknown, including a nongenuine part, a malfunction or an unverified replacement.

An Unknown message alone therefore does not establish one particular cause.

For used parts, investigate lawful provenance and any locks or restrictions before purchasing. Describe condition honestly to your Nigerian customer.

What should you check when buying phone screens? #

Specify the complete assembly.

Does the price cover the display and touch layer? Is the frame included? What panel technology is supplied? Which sensors, fittings or other components must be transferred by the technician?

Apple's display guidance identifies potential problems involving touch response, brightness, colour and other functions when nongenuine displays are used. Those issues provide useful starting points for a technician's acceptance checklist.

Compare the sample with an agreed reference under consistent conditions. Check touch across the screen, visible defects, brightness adjustment, colour consistency and the features relevant to that model.

Ask about post-repair steps. Apple's Repair Assistant documentation explains calibration for supported devices and parts, and notes that Activation Lock can prevent completion of some repairs.

Confirm the current requirements for your exact model. A connector fitting or a screen lighting up is only part of the acceptance process.

Where can you find Chinese phone-parts suppliers? #

Use a combination of market research, platform searches and supplier verification.

Our Shenzhen electronics market guide provides context for exploring Huaqiangbei. The 1688, Alibaba and Taobao comparison can help you choose a purchasing route.

Useful Chinese search terms include:

Search term Meaning
手机配件 Mobile-phone parts and accessories; a broad search
手机维修配件 Mobile-phone repair parts
手机屏幕总成 Complete phone screen assembly
手机尾插小板 Phone charging-port daughterboard
手机充电排线 Phone charging flex cable
手机摄像头模组 Phone camera module
手机后盖 Phone back cover
手机电池 Phone battery

Add the exact model code and requested configuration to the search.

Shortlist sellers willing to provide identifiable samples, detailed photographs and a clear returns process. Establish whether the business manufactures, refurbishes, distributes or simply resells the parts.

Follow our guide to checking a Chinese supplier. Verify the legal seller and payment beneficiary before transferring funds.

Be cautious about claims that every item is original without supporting evidence. Our Chinese supplier scam guide explains identity and payment checks.

How should you order samples and inspect a production batch? #

Agree the specification and test procedure before buying.

Use our samples from China guide to plan a trial with a competent repair technician.

For displays, record the agreed visual, touch and functional results. For charging boards, test the functions required for that exact assembly, which may include charging, data connection or an integrated microphone.

Use suitable equipment and the manufacturer's repair instructions. Document tests before final installation where the approved procedure permits.

Identify each sample by seller, date, stock code and photographs. Keep the approved reference so a later order can be compared with it.

Copy this supplier enquiry and complete the brackets:

Please quote [quantity] of [part description] for [full handset model code and revision]. Confirm whether the part is new genuine, used, refurbished or aftermarket, and define the supplied specification. State the part reference, assembly contents, compatibility and any calibration or software requirements. Send clear front, rear, connector and label photographs. Provide sample terms, testing arrangements, defect-claim conditions, packing details, gross weight and delivery terms. Production stock must match the approved reference; substitutions require written approval.

For the larger order, arrange quality inspection in China. Agree which items are tested, how many, which equipment is used and what counts as a failure.

A carton count or photograph cannot establish that every component works. Understand the limits of any sampling plan.

What warranty and returns terms should you agree? #

Settle this before installation or resale.

Ask when the claim period begins: supplier dispatch, warehouse receipt or arrival in Nigeria. Establish whether connecting a part for an approved test affects return eligibility.

Get written answers covering:

Do not assume a low-price supplier will pay international return freight.

Keep incoming inspection records and separate untested, accepted and rejected stock. Your customer warranty should reflect what you can actually support.

Track claims by supplier and stock code. A cheaper batch can become expensive if diagnosis, replacement delivery and technician time absorb the price difference.

What import and certificate checks apply in Nigeria? #

Prepare an itemised list of the actual components and their condition.

SON's official SONCAP overview describes conformity assessment for regulated imports against applicable standards. Confirm the classification and requirements for your particular screens, boards, batteries or other components before shipment.

Do not assume all phone-related items share one customs classification, certification route or duty treatment. State clearly whether goods are new, used or refurbished.

Use our SONCAP requirements guide and product certificate guide to prepare questions for SON, the relevant conformity assessment provider and your clearing professional.

Ask for an itemised written estimate covering the actual consignment. A supplier's generic certificate image does not establish that your shipment meets the applicable requirements.

Can phone batteries travel with ordinary spare parts? #

Arrange acceptance before purchasing them.

IATA's 2026 battery guidance explains that lithium batteries remain regulated dangerous goods for air transport. The applicable requirements depend on the battery and shipment configuration.

Give the forwarder the exact battery model, chemistry, watt-hour rating, quantity and condition. Obtain the relevant UN 38.3 test summary from the supplier and have the forwarder confirm the documents, packaging, route acceptance and charges.

A safety data sheet alone does not settle the complete shipping requirements.

Declare batteries accurately. Keep them out of a general-parts consolidation unless the forwarder has approved the complete arrangement.

For a first trial, compare the cost and complexity of sourcing non-battery parts separately. Small size does not remove battery transport obligations.

How is shipping weight calculated for phone spare parts? #

Request packed measurements rather than estimating freight from the bare component.

Display protection can add volume. Ask for gross weight, carton dimensions, chargeable-weight rules, minimum charges and the final delivery scope.

Here is an invented example for a carton containing no batteries:

Packing assumption Result
Carton dimensions 45 × 35 × 25cm
Carton volume 39,375cm³
Assumed actual gross weight 4.8kg
Illustrative volumetric divisor 6,000
Calculated volumetric weight 6.5625kg, about 6.56kg

If the agreed quotation uses the greater of actual and volumetric weight, this example would use the volumetric figure before the carrier's rounding and minimum-charge rules. The divisor is an assumption, not a universal standard.

Our shipping cost per kg guide explains what to ask about the quotation.

When combining orders from different suppliers, retain each part's identity and protective packaging.

How do you calculate landed cost and resale margin? #

Cost each stock code separately. Mixed screens, charging boards and cameras should not automatically receive the same shipping, inspection or warranty allocation.

The following is an invented budget for 50 identical display assemblies, with no batteries. It is not a current supplier quotation, market price or official fee schedule.

Budget item Illustrative amount
Goods ₦750,000
China local delivery ₦30,000
Sample testing and batch inspection ₦45,000
Freight ₦70,000
Import, compliance and clearance allowance ₦110,000
Nigerian delivery ₦20,000
Payment and exchange charges ₦25,000
Subtotal before warranty reserve ₦1,050,000
Reserve for future customer warranty claims ₦60,000
Total planning budget ₦1,110,000

Now assume two units fail arrival checks, cannot be sold and produce no supplier recovery. That leaves 48 saleable units.

The planning budget per saleable unit becomes ₦23,125. At an assumed selling price of ₦30,000, the difference is ₦6,875, approximately 22.9% of sales, before shop overheads, marketing, selling charges and other expenses.

The two rejected units are a scenario, not a predicted defect rate. The separate reserve is for future customer claims and is retained cash rather than an invoice already due.

Replace every number with an itemised quotation and avoid counting insurance, clearance or handling twice. Our landed-cost guide explains the cost build-up; our profit-margin guide distinguishes margin from markup.

Before paying, compare the specification with the proforma invoice. Agree deposit and balance-payment conditions, then record the approved parts, sample reference, inspection and remedies in a supplier purchase order.

For a ChinaBridge Global sourcing enquiry, send your parts list, exact model codes, quantities, required condition and quality, reference photographs and Nigerian delivery city. Ask for the work scope and ChinaBridge fees, with supplier, testing, certification and logistics costs identified separately.

What do buyers ask about phone spare parts from China to Nigeria? #

Which phone parts are most profitable to import? #

There is no universal winner. Compare local requests, saleable-unit cost, returns, selling price and how quickly each exact stock code sells.

Can I order using only the phone's name? #

Use the full model code and the component reference where available. Confirm revisions, connectors and assembly contents with a competent technician.

Does an OEM or AAA label prove quality? #

Require the seller's written definition, supporting evidence and an approved sample. A label alone does not establish your acceptance standard.

Can a genuine used iPhone part always be installed successfully? #

Check the exact model, part eligibility, condition and current calibration requirements. Locks or other restrictions can prevent completion of a repair.

Should I buy screens with frames? #

Compare the complete installed cost with your technician. Confirm what is included and whether the assembly matches the required handset variant.

Are phone batteries charged at the ordinary air-cargo rate? #

Obtain a quotation for the actual battery shipment. Acceptance, packing, documentation and handling requirements can differ from non-battery parts.

What information is needed for a sourcing quotation? #

Provide exact models, part descriptions, quantities, condition, quality requirements, photographs and delivery city. Identify batteries separately.
