How to Buy from AliExpress in Nigeria: 2026 Guide

To buy from AliExpress in Nigeria, start with the correct delivery address, an item that can be shipped to that address and a payment option available for your order.

Then check the exact product, seller, delivery arrangement and total cost before paying.

AliExpress is a global retail marketplace. It can be useful for comparing small purchases, but the selected listing and checkout determine what you can actually order.

This guide was checked on 26 October 2026. Use it as a practical checklist for your first purchase, whether you are buying for yourself or testing stock for a Nigerian business.

What do you need to buy from AliExpress in Nigeria? #

Prepare an account you control, a reachable phone number, a clear receiving address and a budget that includes more than the product price.

If you are buying for resale, decide who will purchase the goods from you and what specification they need. A cheap item is not automatically useful stock.

Our mini-importation guide for Nigerians explains the wider business preparation.

Check whether the goods can legally enter Nigeria before ordering. Use the prohibited-imports guide as a starting point, then confirm current product-specific requirements with the relevant authorities.

Choose a manageable first order so you can assess the product and delivery process before committing more money. The purpose is to learn from a defined purchase, not to fill a cart because several items appear inexpensive.

How do you set up your account and Nigerian address? #

Open the official AliExpress website or app and complete the account process using your own accurate details. Keep access to the email address or phone number used for account recovery.

Set the intended delivery destination to Nigeria and check availability for the selected item.

Prepare the receiving information carefully:

Use a location where the intended recipient can receive delivery or respond to collection instructions. A landmark can supplement a street address, but it should not replace the main address details.

Follow NIPOST's guidance on checking your postcode rather than copying a code from an unrelated address.

If the form rejects the postcode you have verified, ask platform support or the delivery provider which format it accepts. Do not invent digits simply to complete the form.

Review the address again at checkout, particularly when ordering for someone in another city.

How do you choose the correct product and seller? #

Search with the product's exact function, model or specification. Compare the selected variation rather than the lowest starting price displayed in search results.

For example, a Nigerian phone-accessory retailer ordering cases should confirm the exact phone model. Similar-looking models can have different camera openings, dimensions or button positions.

Check:

Ask a clear question when something is missing. “Does this fit [exact model]?” is more useful than “Is this good quality?”

Save the selected variant and important seller replies before paying. Reviews and photographs can provide clues, but they do not establish that your order will meet every requirement.

For resale ideas, use our product-selection guide for Nigerian importers, then test the idea against your customers and budget.

How much will your AliExpress order really cost? #

Build the calculation around the final order, not a screenshot of the item price.

Check the goods, shipping, payment or currency-conversion costs, applicable import charges and any collection or local-delivery expenses.

Use the landed-cost guide to organise the figures.

Consider this fictional example, using naira equivalents:

That is not a complete landed cost if additional applicable charges remain unconfirmed. Add them before setting a resale price or deciding that the order is cheaper than buying locally.

Our customs-duty calculation guide explains the information to check. The example above is not a current quotation or tax estimate.

Read the final payable amount after any promotion. A coupon that requires extra purchases can increase your total spend, while a free-shipping label does not establish that every other cost is included.

How do you check payment and delivery before paying? #

Use the payment options actually offered for your order. Confirm the charged currency, any conversion and your bank or payment provider's limits and fees.

Do not assume every Nigerian-issued card will be accepted. If payment fails, check the order's payment status and contact the issuer or platform before repeatedly trying again.

Keep payment within the platform's supported order process. A separate transfer requested by someone claiming to offer a better deal needs independent scrutiny.

For delivery, check the method, charge, estimated window and receiving arrangement. Clarify whether the service includes delivery to your address or may involve collection.

You can ask:

Hello. Please confirm that [exact item and quantity] can be shipped to [city and state], Nigeria. What delivery service is offered, what does the shipping charge cover, and are there any receiving or collection instructions I should know before ordering?

Read any delivery, Choice or return benefit against the actual offer. AliExpress's terms say features can vary by country and region; an overseas promotion does not establish eligibility for your Nigerian order.

What should you do after placing the order? #

Save the order number, payment confirmation, selected specification, delivery address and relevant promises together.

Follow the dispatch and transport updates in your order record. An order number and a carrier's tracking reference can serve different purposes, so identify which one you have before checking an external tracker.

Keep an eye on the actual order's deadlines and messages. If a delivery problem develops, contact the responsible party through the appropriate channel and record the response.

On receipt, count the items and check their model, condition and important functions. Photograph the package and any discrepancy promptly.

Our damaged-goods guide explains how to organise useful evidence.

Use the particular order's current complaint or return process where necessary. A return, refund or free return should not be assumed, and the required evidence depends on the case.

For resale stock, record the complete cost and assess the sample before increasing the next order.

If you need assistance to buy from AliExpress in Nigeria, send ChinaBridge Global the product links, exact specifications, quantities and destination. Agree the service scope, responsibilities and fees before an order is placed.

What else do Nigerian buyers ask about AliExpress? #

Do I need an agent to place an order? #

You can manage an eligible order through your own account and the available checkout. If you use an agent, agree who holds the order, receives the goods and handles any complaint.

Can I order just one item? #

Check the quantity options and minimum for the selected listing. Retail quantities can be useful for a test, but a listing's particular conditions still determine what you can purchase.

Is shipping to Nigeria always free? #

No universal free-shipping assumption is safe. Check the selected item, quantity, address and delivery method in the final order. Read any conditions attached to a shipping promotion.

Will the parcel arrive at my doorstep? #

Confirm the delivery arrangement for the actual service. Keep your contact details accurate and respond to genuine receiving instructions. Do not assume every shipment follows the same local delivery route.

Will I have to pay import charges? #

Check the goods, applicable Nigerian requirements and what the order price includes. A small quantity, discount or free-shipping offer does not automatically establish an exemption from import obligations.

Which Nigerian bank card should I use? #

Check the current checkout options and confirm compatibility, transaction limits, currency and fees with your issuer. A card recommendation from an old post is not proof that it will work for your order.

Is AliExpress always cheaper than a Nigerian wholesaler? #

Compare the same specification and quantity using the complete delivered cost. Consider the waiting time, inspection, returns and after-sales work as well as the price of the goods.
