How much is China visa in Nigeria in 2026?

For a Nigerian passport holder, the Chinese government's visa fee starts at ₦10,500 for a single-entry visa.

But that is not the full amount you normally pay.

The China Visa Application Centres in Lagos and Abuja currently publish a ₦74,500 regular application service fee on top of the consular fee.

That means a normal single-entry application currently works out at about:

₦10,500 visa fee + ₦74,500 Visa Centre service fee = ₦85,000

before optional courier, form-filling, VIP, express or private-agent charges.

That distinction explains why somebody can truthfully say “the China visa costs ₦10,500” while you still pay much more when submitting the application.

What is the official China visa fee in Nigeria? #

The Chinese Embassy and Consulate-General extended the reduced visa-fee schedule through 31 December 2026.

For Nigerian passport holders:

Visa entries Consular visa fee Regular Visa Centre fee Approx. regular total
Single entry ₦10,500 ₦74,500 ₦85,000
Double entry ₦15,750 ₦74,500 ₦90,250
Multiple entry, 6 months ₦21,000 ₦74,500 ₦95,500
Multiple entry, 12 months ₦31,500 ₦74,500 ₦106,000

The Visa Centre fee is separate from the government visa fee. Both Lagos and Abuja currently publish the same ₦74,500 regular application service fee, inclusive of tax.

These totals do not include optional services.

Can you simply pay ₦31,500 and get a one-year multiple-entry visa? #

No.

The fee table tells you what the visa costs if that number of entries is issued.

It does not guarantee that you will receive the validity or number of entries you request.

Chinese consular officers decide:

A first-time business traveller should not assume that choosing “one-year multiple entry” on a form means the Consulate must issue it.

If you are making one Canton Fair trip, a single-entry visa may be enough.

If you regularly travel to China for sourcing, factory visits and future fairs, a multiple-entry visa can be more useful when you qualify for one.

Our multiple-entry China visa guide explains the difference.

Why does the Visa Centre charge ₦74,500? #

The Chinese Visa Application Service Centre is separate from the Embassy or Consulate.

It handles parts of the application process such as receiving applications and passports, service operations and passport collection.

Its fee is therefore charged in addition to the visa fee.

The current published regular service charge at both Lagos and Abuja is ₦74,500.

So when comparing prices, separate these two things:

Government visa fee

and

Visa Application Centre service fee

Do not call both of them the “Embassy fee.”

How much does express processing cost? #

For ordinary applications, China's updated Nigeria visa guidance says normal processing is generally four working days, while expedited processing can be about three working days.

The Visa Centres currently publish these application-service charges:

Those are Visa Centre service charges.

Do not assume every express tier is available for every application.

Ask which processing option applies to your visa before paying.

This is especially important for Canton Fair applicants.

Is there express processing for the 140th Canton Fair visa? #

No.

The special Nigerian application notice for the 140th Canton Fair says expedited processing is not offered.

After passport submission, the normal processing time is around four working days.

So if your trip is for the October 2026 Fair, paying somebody extra to promise a “48-hour Canton Fair visa” should immediately raise questions.

No private agent can create an express option that the official route says is unavailable.

Read our China visa processing-time guide before choosing your travel date.

Why can an agent quote ₦300,000, ₦500,000 or more? #

Because an agent's quote may include far more than the visa itself.

A package can include:

That does not automatically make the quote unreasonable.

But you should know what you are paying for.

Ask for an itemised breakdown.

For example:

Consular fee: ₦10,500
Visa Centre regular service fee: ₦74,500
Agency assistance: ₦
Other services: ₦

Total: ₦___

If somebody calls the whole ₦500,000 an “Embassy visa fee”, that is inaccurate.

The official government fee for a Nigerian single-entry visa is ₦10,500 in 2026.

Do not pay for fake bank statements #

A visa-support package should help you present your genuine documents properly.

It should not manufacture financial evidence.

China's visa authorities can ask for bank statements and supporting financial documents depending on the application route.

For ordinary M-visa applications, current Nigeria guidance refers to recent bank activity as part of the supporting evidence.

The special 140th Canton Fair process currently asks for three months of bank statements.

Never pay somebody to create a bank statement that does not reflect your real account.

A cleaner application is more valuable than a bigger fake balance.

Our bank statement for China visa guide explains what the document is meant to show.

What other costs should you budget for? #

The visa fee is not the only application expense.

Depending on your situation, you may also spend money on:

The Visa Centre currently publishes a ₦42,400 one-way courier service charge, excluding postal charges. Its optional form-filling support is currently listed at ₦74,500.

These are optional services.

Do not accidentally add them to your application because you think they are compulsory.

Do you still have to pay to give fingerprints? #

Fingerprinting itself is not the issue it was in older visa guides.

Until 31 December 2026, China is exempting all short-term visa applicants whose intended stay is 180 days or less from fingerprint collection.

Long-term categories that lead to residence permits, including D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z, still require fingerprints.

A normal short business M visa therefore generally falls under the exemption.

You may still have to submit your passport according to the instructions for your application, so fingerprint exemption does not mean every China visa can be completed entirely online.

Our step-by-step China visa application guide explains the current process.

Is there a China e-visa for Nigerians? #

Not as a general replacement for the standard mainland visa process.

The application begins online, but after approval you receive instructions for passport submission.

So “online visa application” should not be confused with a fully digital e-visa where nothing physical is submitted.

Be careful with advertisements promising an instant “China e-visa” for a Nigerian passport without the normal Chinese visa process.

Can Nigerians enter China without a visa? #

For ordinary business or tourism travel, Nigerian passport holders are not currently included in China's unilateral 30-day visa-free country list.

Nigeria is also not among the 57 countries currently eligible for China's 240-hour visa-free transit programme.

There is, however, an important distinction.

China's general 24-hour visa-free transit policy can apply to travellers of all nationalities who are genuinely transiting to a third country and remain within the restricted transit area, subject to the normal conditions.

If you need to leave the restricted port area, you may need temporary-entry permission.

That is a transit rule.

It is not a substitute for an M visa if your plan is to enter China, attend Canton Fair, visit factories or conduct a normal buying trip.

What should a Canton Fair buyer expect to pay? #

For a Nigerian applying for a normal single-entry Canton Fair M visa using the regular service, the starting official calculation is currently:

Visa fee: ₦10,500

Visa Centre regular service fee: ₦74,500

Base total: ₦85,000

Then add only the extras you actually use.

Your flights, hotel, Canton Fair trip package or sourcing-agent fee are separate costs.

The Canton Fair invitation itself can be obtained through the Fair's official buyer system; do not confuse the invitation with the visa fee.

Read our Canton Fair invitation guide before paying anyone for one.

The short answer #

So, how much is China visa in Nigeria in 2026?

The Chinese government's fee starts at ₦10,500 for a single-entry Nigerian passport visa.

But the Visa Application Centre currently adds a ₦74,500 regular service fee.

That puts the normal base cost of a single-entry application at approximately ₦85,000 before optional services.

For double entry, the regular total is about ₦90,250.

For a six-month multiple-entry visa, about ₦95,500.

For a one-year multiple-entry visa, about ₦106,000.

And if an agency quotes much more, ask what the extra money buys.

Pay for useful help if you need it.

Just do not mistake an agent's package price for the official cost of the visa.
