Alibaba Ready to Ship: Guide for Nigerian Buyers
Alibaba Ready to Ship explained for Nigerian buyers: check stock, dispatch dates, customisation, delivery costs and order terms before paying a supplier.

Alibaba Ready to Ship: Guide for Nigerian Buyers
Alibaba Ready to Ship can help Nigerian buyers find existing products without commissioning a new production run. It can suit a small test order, provided the available stock matches what you need.
The label does not establish your complete cost or arrival date in Nigeria. Check the selected product, quantity, shipping destination and written order before paying.
This guide reflects official Alibaba information checked on 27 October 2026. It explains how to assess stock offers and decide whether an existing product or a customised order suits your business.
What does Ready to Ship mean on Alibaba? #
Alibaba describes this category as stock or as-is products available for purchase with little or no customisation. The seller offers an existing specification rather than asking you to design everything from scratch.
You may still need to select a colour, size, model or packaging option. Those choices matter: a photo showing several variants does not confirm that every variant is available in your required quantity.
Think of the label as a starting point for checking a purchase. It does not prove that a particular seller is the manufacturer or that the goods meet your Nigerian customers' expectations.
If you are new to ordering, start with our Alibaba buying guide for Nigerians, then use the checks below for stock products.
How do you confirm the exact stock before paying? #
Look at the available purchase options and lead-time information for your selected variant. Where available, Add to cart or Start order lets you begin a direct purchase; inspect the order details before completing payment.
Ask the supplier to confirm:
- The exact model, material, measurements and included accessories.
- Available quantities for each colour or size.
- Whether the goods are finished and packed, or still require work.
- The minimum quantity for the chosen combination.
- The dispatch commitment for your order.
For illustration, needing 40 black bags and 20 beige bags is different from ordering any 60 bags. If only 10 beige bags are available, decide whether to wait, reduce the order or choose another supplier.
Ask how the minimum order quantity applies: across the order, per model, per colour or per customised version.
Message you can send:
Hello, I want [quantity] units of [exact product and variant] for Nigeria. Please confirm the available quantity, finished specifications, packaging and dispatch date for this selection.
Please quote the goods and delivery separately, identify the delivery destination, and confirm whether any customisation changes the minimum quantity or lead time.
How long does Alibaba Ready to Ship take to reach Nigeria? #
Separate the supplier's dispatch commitment from the transport estimate. A product leaving a Chinese facility has not yet completed international shipping, Nigerian clearance or final delivery.
Older official RTS guidance describes goods leaving the supplier's facility within 15 days. That is a dispatch description, not a promise that every Nigerian order arrives within 15 days. Use the current dates and conditions recorded for your actual order.
Check the stages that apply to your route:
- Seller preparation and dispatch.
- Delivery to a forwarder, if you use one.
- Any consolidation or waiting for the booked departure.
- International transport and Nigerian clearance.
- Collection or delivery to your final address.
Ask what starts the lead-time clock, especially if artwork approval or another buyer action is required. Record the answer in the order.
If you use a Chinese warehouse, establish which commitment covers delivery there and who handles the remaining journey. Avoid promising your Nigerian customer a date based only on the seller's dispatch statement.
Can you add your logo or change the product? #
Some stock offers allow limited changes, such as an available colour or a logo. More extensive changes may require a different quotation and production arrangement.
Ask what happens to the price, minimum quantity and dispatch date when you request printing, new packaging, a different material or a changed component.
Existing stock may suit a trial of an ordinary, unbranded product. A customised order may suit a specification you cannot find in finished stock, provided you can support its quantities, costs and timeline.
Request a sample before a bulk order when quality or suitability is uncertain. Make sure the sample represents the version you intend to buy.
For bulk purchases, define the inspection scope. Ready-made goods can still have incorrect quantities, mixed specifications or unsuitable packing.
How do you compare the complete cost to Nigeria? #
Compare the same product specification, quantity, packing and delivery point. A low unit price and an attractive dispatch time are only part of the decision.
For a fictional example, suppose a quotation shows:
- 60 plain bags at USD 3 each: USD 180.
- Agreed packing charge: USD 6.
- Delivery to your Chinese warehouse: USD 14.
- Subtotal to that warehouse: USD 200.
That subtotal does not include unquoted international freight, Nigerian duties or taxes, clearance, local delivery or payment charges. These example prices are not market quotes.
Build your complete landed cost before deciding whether the order is profitable.
If shipping is shown on the listing, check the destination, quantity, transport service and inclusions behind that figure. Recheck the final order after changing the address or adding customisation.
Compare the financial effect of buying more than you need against paying slightly more per unit for a smaller trial. Base the decision on your own sales evidence and available capital.
How should you protect the order and handle a delay? #
Record the specification, quantities by variant, dispatch date, delivery destination and agreed changes in the Alibaba order. Keep important confirmations in the platform's message system.
Check that the order supports Alibaba Trade Assurance. Pay through Alibaba's supported order-payment route; for a platform bank transfer, use the official bank details provided for the transaction.
If the seller reports a stock shortage after payment, ask for the proposed solution in writing. Review any changed quantity, substitution or revised shipment date before agreeing.
If you cannot resolve the problem, use the order's refund or dispute process promptly. Check the applicable deadline and evidence requirements rather than relying on a general promise in chat.
Keep the listing, order details, payment record and messages. For product issues, retain relevant photographs, inspection findings and packaging evidence.
Review return arrangements before buying. The public Easy Return & Refund country list checked for this guide does not include Nigeria. Do not assume a Nigerian delivery address includes free local returns.
What questions do Nigerian buyers ask most? #
Does the label mean I am buying directly from a factory? #
It describes the product offer, not a complete assessment of the seller's manufacturing role. Check the company and its capability separately.
Can I buy just one piece? #
Check the selected offer. Existing stock does not mean every seller accepts one piece, every colour combination or every product variant.
Can a logo request change the dispatch date? #
Yes, it can introduce additional work. Confirm the revised specification, minimum quantity, charges and dispatch commitment before paying.
Is delivery to Nigeria guaranteed within 15 days? #
Do not assume that. Supplier dispatch and delivery to Nigeria are different stages. Review the actual order and any separately applicable delivery guarantee.
Does the displayed shipping price include Nigerian duty? #
Check the shipping terms and billing arrangement. A displayed freight price does not by itself confirm that every destination charge is included.
Does the stock label guarantee product quality? #
It does not replace your specification checks, sample assessment or agreed inspection. Confirm that the available goods match what you intend to sell.
Are free local returns automatically available in Nigeria? #
Do not assume they are. Check the current country eligibility, product eligibility and return terms for your order before purchase.
